1. Open the Search tool on the taskbar on your computer desktop

2. Search the keyword Language and select ‘Language Settings’

3. Under Preferred languages on the language settings screen, check if you are using the ‘English (New Zealand)’ language setting.
If you are already using the English (New Zealand) language setting, please skip to the next instructions for adding the Māori keyboard.

4. If it says you are using a different language setting, you need to select ‘Add a language’.

5. Type in ‘New Zealand’ into the search bar and select ‘English (New Zealand)’ and then ‘next’.

6. Some optional language features will be automatically selected and you should install these. There will also be another option unticked that says “Set as my Windows display language” and you should tick this as well. Then select “Install”.

7. It will start to install the new language and will come up a message saying it needs to sign you out of your account in order to apply the change. Make sure you save anything you are working on and then come back to this message and select “Yes, sign out now”.

8. Once the English (New Zealand) language setting has been added, you can remove any other languages showing under the Preferred language in the Language settings.
