Submitting via Turnitin
You should be informed under the Assignments tile/section on your course page if any of your assignments are to be submitted to Turnitin (plagiarism tool).
To submit through Turnitin you will need to submit your assignment as normal. When you submit the assignment, and it sits in the DRAFT state/submission, it will automatically go through Turnitin. In going through Turnitin, your assignment will be compared to other student assignments and other academic readings and resources. After it has gone through this process, a report will be produced showing where it matches with other work.
Once submitted, it will say the Turnitin status is queued.
Then, you should receive an email from Turnitin containing a Digital Receipt confirming the assignment was successfully submitted and a submission ID number. It will show in the assignment area in PMA as below:
Once it has gone through Turnitin, you will be give a similarity percentage:
PLEASE NOTE: the above example shows 100% match as we have used a test document for this example that has already been submitted to Turnitin.
You may receive a match of 3%, 10%, etc.
